Over 55 years of research highlights the important role that family, school, and community partnerships play in achieving positive student outcomes. Sustainable, comprehensive, and scalable partnership programs that are intentionally implemented in districts, schools and migrant programs will lead to student success, family empowerment, staff satisfaction, and overall school improvement. In this session, participants were introduced to the research-based components of a comprehensive partnership program and reviewed high-impact, equitable partnership strategies linked to the National Standards for Family-School Partnerships, presented by Darcy Hutchins. Tomas Mejia, Migrant Education Program Director, and Jenny Lerner, Migrant Education Program Consultant, presented concrete examples of how Colorado has integrated the National Standards for Family-School Partnership in the Migrant Education program.
